A classic American stoneware crock marked with the blue oval stamp "The Western Pottery Co. - Made in Denver" and the number "2" indicating its 2-gallon capacity. The Western Pottery Company operated in Denver from the early 1900s through the mid-20th century, making this a piece of regional American pottery history with particular appeal to Colorado collectors.
The cream-colored salt-glazed stoneware is in good condition overall. There is a hairline crack visible running from the rim down the side, and some interior residue and staining consistent with age and use. Approximately 10 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter, no lid present.
